The Smart Building Conference (SBC) Smart Building Conference is being held in Amsterdam on the 5th of Feb. The event is the pan-European summit for professionals working in the technology for smart homes, smart offices, smart buildings and smart cities. Taking place on the day before Integrated Systems Europe 2018, SBC is a one-day event that explores the latest technologies, business strategies, market research and workflow case studies through presentations from the world’s leading smart building experts and thought leaders.
Harald Burchard will be speaking about LiFi – A world connected by light
LiFi is an industry set to transform both the lighting and wireless communications sectors and open up a market projected to be worth 75 billion by the year 2025. In the future light will become the nervous system of a 4th industrial revolution and LiFi will be the platform to realise the potential of IoT and enable truly connected and smart environments, buildings, cities and nations.
Harald’s talk will address areas of LiFi development and commercialisation such as:

- How LiFi help you realise IoT and Smart Environments
- How you can deploy LiFi today
This year’s theme is From Smart Building to Smart City, as Conference Chairman Bob Snyder explains, “As more layers of digital networks blanket urban space, new approaches to commercial and residential built environment are emerging.”
This is the theme being explored by more than 30 of the world’s leading thought leaders and experts at the one-day, twin track conference. It will take place on 5th February at the RAI Amsterdam, the day before Integrated Systems Europe 2018 opens its doors.
Not bound by the methodologies of a single field, smart building is characterized by an omni-disciplinary approach. Smart Building Conference brings together experts from IT, AV, building, architecture, facilities management and others.
This year’s event will include a closing industry panel– From Smart Buildings to Even Smarter Buildings— with special guest Carlo Ratti, Italian architect and founder of international design office Carlo Ratti Associati, and professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he directs the MIT Senseable City Lab, a research group that explores how new technologies are changing the way we understand, design and ultimately live in cities.
